Located right next door to trendy, bustling Maroochydore, Cotton Tree is fringed by the sandy banks of the Maroochy River to the north and the white silica beaches of the blue Pacfic Ocean to the west.

Cotton Tree is a coastal suburb that includes long Maroochydore Beach, popular for Pacific Ocean surfing, and calm Cotton Tree Beach on the Maroochy River. Fashion boutiques mix with surf stores, and every weekend you can browse through the stalls filled with handcrafts on the Sunday markets. 

Due to its location right on the sandy banks of the Maroochy River, it is only natural that Cotton Tree is home to an impressive range of watersport activities. Hire a SUP (stand-up paddleboard), try out kitesurfing or go for a relaxing kayak. It’s a perfect family spot as well, with the large Cotton Tree Playground and plenty of picnic and BBQ facilities. 

The cafe scene is thriving on in this coastal suburb, with many river and waterfront restaurants available for lunch, dinner and cocktails as well to complete your perfect day at beautiful Cotton Tree.
